The city of Saratoga Springs is located in Utah and, according to the 2010 Census, has a population of 17,781. Saratoga Springs represents a relatively new development, located along the northern shore of Utah Lake. It was incorporated at the end of 1997 and is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. Temperatures vary a lot through the year, with average highs in July of 91 degrees and average lows in January reaching only 17 degrees. The city is made up of 21 square miles and stretches from Pelican Point on the west side of Utah Lake to the Camp Williams U.S. Army facility, located just south of Bluffdale and west of Lehi.

The naturally hot springs of Saratoga Springs inspired early settlers in the latter part of the 19th century, when the area was purchased by John Beck. Beck built a spa resort in 1884 that also served as the Beck family home -- now doesn't that sound like the perfect place to call home!

Getting Around (And Away)

Two airports serve residents and visitors alike of Saratoga Springs in Utah. The domestic airport is Provo Municipal Airport, located about 24 miles from the heart of Saratoga Springs, and Salt Lake City International Airport is situated some 34 miles from the center of the city, in case you need a vacation (or two). More localized transportation includes public buses and private taxis. Saratoga Springs isn't particularly pedestrian-friendly -- really, it comes down to car ownership in this town, especially in those colder winter months.

Keeping Busy

Three of the top-rated restaurants in Saratoga Springs include Kneaders Bakery and Caf, a specialist bread and sandwich maker located on North Redwood Road; Lokals, an American-style bar and cafeteria also on North Redwood Road; and Tenney's Pizza on State Road. The springs of Saratoga, only a quarter of a mile from the main road, offer a place to relax and unwind anytime or day of the year. Skinny-dipping is no longer an acceptable practice, so if your preference is for swimming in the buff, it's best to look to another water source.
